Tiento – Debut Album of Solo Classical Guitar
Released January 30, 2026

Green Flash Music is pleased to announce the release of Tiento, the debut solo album of classical guitarist Brendan Evans.

Produced by John Finbury, Tiento showcases Evans’s refined musical voice and masterful technique within the classical guitar tradition, while reflecting a deep personal commitment to craft, authenticity, and artistic integrity.

A “Tiento” is, at its core, an exploration — a musical act of seeking that can take many forms. First used as a title in the fifteenth century, the term later came to describe one of the more solemn and introspective styles of flamenco song. This spirit of searching finds a powerful modern expression in Maurice Ohana’s Tiento, the title work of the album, a striking composition that draws on elements of ancient music while speaking in a contemporary voice.

For Evans, Tiento represents both tradition and personal journey — an effort, a temptation, a feeling. In choosing this title, he signals a deep connection to the classical guitar’s lineage while asserting a uniquely personal musical identity.

Tiento is his first full-length solo album and reflects years of study, practice, and artistic focus. As Evans writes:

This debut album, and indeed this musical life, amounts to a Tiento — made up of love for the guitar and its repertoire, cultivated over many years of study and practice. I honor my teachers, students, colleagues, and audience, and offer this record to our common musical heritage.”
